Office Design Photos and Ideas

The Bracy Cottage — Office Alcove
The garage interior was completely redone with a new concrete floor, glass doors, and practical storage.
A second bedroom doubles as an office, should a renter prefer to use it that way. Oni balances earthen and elegant decor elements, emphasizing a small, personal collection throughout the ADU.
A longstanding relationship between FMD Architects and CCB Envico made this project possible.
The upstairs is a lovely multifunctional space for the owners to go for peace and quiet and views of the garden, but it's also a favorite spot their grandchildren who enjoy playing with Legos.
Another view of the library, with its Douglas fir ceiling and an 1872 family heirloom flag hanging in the background.
The library, or “basket of books,” feels like a warm cocoon. The prints along the bottom shelf are by Giorgio Morandi.

To the side of the front entrance is a combined office and music room.
Some people need to walk outside before they can open up. Some grab sticks and beat trees. The land itself becomes the therapist,” says Ryan.
A vintage chair slides underneath a desk which is tucked into a corner where the building is angled on two planes. The windows and doors are by Pella.
Van Dusen began making her own clothing as a teenager after convincing her mom to buy a sewing machine she'd use to reconstruct her closet full of thrift store garments. Color was her primary muse, often favoring bright hues in unexpected combinations and graphic patterns. What she couldn't find, she created, albeit inefficiently — the only way she knew how — by assembling her own printed textiles, one element at a time.
On the other side of the wardrobe lies an office space.
The view from the workspace toward the main house. The family also uses the space to test pho recipes for the restaurant.
A built-in desk creates an office area for two at one end of the living room.
This 450-square-foot apartment includes an origami-like desktop that unfolds to reveal a perforated-steel divider that allows the passage of computer cables hidden inside the office compartment. This transformer-like cabinet helps maximize limited square footage.
Clever joinery units throughout the home are strategically located to avoid unnecessary clutter. The long study on the ground floor—which runs in front of the children’s bedrooms—has plenty of desk space for all four children to do homework and study.
The study on the first floor is in the more private principal bedroom wing of the home. Like the rest of the rooms, it features bespoke American oak timber joinery.
A vintage typewriter, gifted to Bill from his daughter and son-in-law, is right at home in the office next to an iron figurine found in San Miguel de Allende. Brenda hangs her old watches, earrings, and charms around its waist, like a skirt.
The library, also located in the quiet zone, features a custom table by Madeleine Blanchfield Architects, Henry Time SB 1901 chairs, and an Atollo lamp by Vico Magistretti for Oluce.
The corner library takes color inspiration from the facade.
The office features a nearly full-width picture window in front of built-in desks. Views extend beyond the immediate cove to the Atlantic Ocean and horizon.
At the corner with the desk, the building is angled in two planes. The desktop is made from slightly burned Douglas fir.
A sleeping loft above the second-level office accommodates sleepovers with visiting grandchildren.
The second level showcases built-in cabinetry and an office area crafted from cedar.
The custom white oak-and-steel desk and cabinets are by Filtch, topped with a charcoal-finished white oak slab. Matching Fenton and Fenton desk chairs offer the homeowners the opportunity to work side by side.
Simple office furniture in primary colors stands out against marine-blue walls and a white window shade.
A variety of storage units—from built-in shelving to contemporary cabinets—provide plentiful space for the homeowner’s book collection.
The office is now connected to—yet separate from—the main living spaces. Here, accessories and colors are kept to a minimum to allow the homeowner to stay calm and focused.
Partition walls with large panes of glass provide natural light and privacy to the main office. To aid with concentration, accessories and colors are kept to a minimum here.
An office space is tucked behind a sliding glass door at the end of the kitchen run.
With the Murphy bed folded up, ample space is given to other programs.
Window counters are relevant for serious work or casual break-out areas.
On the walls, acoustic pin-up panels aid creative thinking and discussion, and peg walls let tenants personalize their spaces.
The furniture, such as the tables and benches, are designed with wheels so as to enable different configurations.
In Edinburgh’s historic New Town, a Georgian town house had its upper floor redone with black-painted OSB that still expresses its variegated texture.
“My grandfather, George Fasullo, was an architect who died before I was born,” says architect Ryan Bollom. “My mom used both of our drawings as wallpaper in the secondary living space.” During the lockdown, Bollom formed an extended bubble with his parents, and he and his wife, also an architect, used the space as an office.
When folded up, the built-in desk spans the width of the office.
The front door of the home opens to an office, where a built in desk folds down to save space when not in use. The room features concrete floors and plywood walls.
The Deacon also serves as a central place for guests to hang out.
The upstairs landing features an office, sitting area, and enough storage for a family of four.
